Quantifying materials for a project involves analyzing Construction Drawings and listing them in an Excel spreadsheet. Different materials are measured in various units: Drywall in Square Footage (SF), Wood/Metal Studs by Each (EA), and items like doors and windows are counted individually. We deliver the final Excel files for clients to easily make adjustments as needed.
Estimating Involves
Cost estimation forecasts total expenses for a project, including materials, labor, and equipment, supporting our contractor clients. Overheads and profits are factored in, usually at 20%, but we adjust based on client needs. We use a proprietary database from Past Bid Results and subscribe to RS Means for accurate estimations, tailored to specific activities like concrete foundations.
